We collect only what we need to answer your questions and do good work on your home. We don't sell your information to anyone. If you want to know what we have or you want it deleted, email us and we'll take care of it.

WHO WE ARE

Ryland Home and Design, LLC (referred to here as Ryland Home + Design, "we," "us," or "our") is an interior design and space planning studio working in Dallas, Texas and Jackson Hole, Wyoming.

This policy explains what information we collect through rylandhomedesign.com, why we collect it, who sees it, and what control you have over it. By using this site or contacting us through it, you're agreeing to what's described here.

INFORMATION YOU GIVE US

You can browse most of this site without telling us anything about yourself. When you choose to reach out, here's what we collect.

Through our contact form. Your name, email address, phone number if you include it, and whatever you write in the message field.

Through direct communication. If you email, call, or text us, we keep those messages and any information you share in them.

Through the blog. If commenting is enabled on a post and you leave a comment, Wix may collect your name, email address, and profile information as part of creating or using a site member account.

Once we're working together. Project work requires more detail than an inquiry does. Depending on the scope, that can include your home address, floor plans and architectural drawings, photographs of your spaces, measurements, budget parameters, delivery and installation details, billing information, and contact information for your builder, architect, contractor, or other trade partners.

INFORMATION COLLECTED AUTOMATICALLY

Like most websites, this one gathers some technical information on its own. That includes your IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, the pages you visit, how long you stay, and the site or search that sent you here.

This site is built and hosted on Wix. Wix collects and processes this data to operate the site, keep it secure, and provide us with general analytics about traffic. Wix's own privacy practices are described at wix.com/about/privacy.

HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION

We use what we collect to:

Respond to your inquiry and answer your questions
Prepare proposals, scopes of work, and estimates
Deliver design and space planning services
Source products, place orders, and coordinate deliveries and installations
Communicate with your builder, architect, or contractor on your project
Send invoices and process payments
Send occasional updates or newsletters, if you've asked to receive them
Understand how people use our site so we can make it better
Meet our legal, tax, insurance, and recordkeeping obligations

We don't use your information for automated decision making, and we don't build advertising profiles.

HOW WE SHARE YOUR INFORMATION

We do not sell or rent your personal information. We don't share it for cross context behavioral advertising. Here's who does see it and why.

Service providers. We rely on outside companies to run the business, including Wix for website hosting and form submissions, our email and cloud storage providers, our scheduling tools, and our bookkeeping and payment processors. They get access only to what they need to do their job for us.

Trade partners and vendors. Design work doesn't happen in isolation. To source, order, and install, we share what's necessary with showrooms, vendors, manufacturers, workrooms, receiving warehouses, installers, contractors, and builders. That's usually your name, delivery address, and a phone number for coordination.

Legal requirements. If the law requires it, or if we need to protect our rights, our safety, or someone else's, we may disclose information to authorities or legal counsel.

Business transfers. If the business is ever sold, merged, or reorganized, client and inquiry records may transfer as part of that transaction.

COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES

Cookies are small files a website stores in your browser. This site uses them to keep the site functioning properly, remember your preferences, keep the site secure, and give us anonymous analytics about how visitors move through the pages.

You can turn cookies off or delete them in your browser settings. If you do, parts of the site may stop working the way they should. Wix publishes a full list of the cookies it sets in its cookie policy.

SOCIAL MEDIA AND OUTSIDE LINKS

Our site links to Instagram and Facebook and may display an Instagram feed. When those platforms load content on our page or you click through to them, they can collect information about you under their own privacy policies, not ours.

We also link to retailers, vendors, and other websites from time to time, including from blog posts. We don't control those sites and we're not responsible for how they handle your data. Read their policies before you share anything with them.

PROJECT PHOTOGRAPHY

We photograph completed projects and share that work on this site, on social media, in press features, and in proposals to prospective clients. Project photography is published without your name, street address, or any identifying personal details unless you've specifically told us otherwise.

If you're a client and you'd rather your home not appear anywhere publicly, tell us. We'll honor that, and we'll put it in writing in your agreement.

HOW LONG WE KEEP THINGS

Inquiries that don't turn into projects are kept for a reasonable period in case you circle back, and then cleared out.

Active and completed project records are kept longer. We hold onto contracts, invoices, orders, drawings, and correspondence for at least seven years to meet tax, insurance, and warranty obligations, and because product and installation questions have a way of surfacing years later.

You can ask us to delete your information at any time, and we will, except for records we're legally required to keep.

SECURITY

Our site runs over an encrypted connection, and we use reputable providers with their own security programs. We limit access to client information to the people who need it.

That said, no website or storage system is completely secure. We can't guarantee absolute security, and we won't pretend otherwise.

One practical note: please don't email us credit card numbers, account numbers, or passwords. If we need payment information, we'll send you a secure link.

YOUR CHOICES AND YOUR RIGHTS

You can always:

Ask what personal information we have about you
Ask us to correct anything that's wrong
Ask us to delete your information
Unsubscribe from any marketing email, using the link at the bottom of the message
Decline to give us information, though that may limit what we can do for you

Depending on where you live, state or national privacy laws may give you additional rights, including the right to confirm whether we process your data, obtain a copy of it, or appeal a decision we make about your request.

To exercise any of these, email wendi@rylandhomedesign.com with the details of your request. We'll verify who you are and respond within 45 days. If we need more time, we'll tell you why.

CHILDREN'S PRIVACY

This site is intended for adults. We don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.

DO NOT TRACK

Browsers can send a Do Not Track signal. There's no shared industry standard for how sites should respond to it, so ours doesn't currently respond to those signals.

VISITORS OUTSIDE THE UNITED STATES

We operate in the United States, and any information you send us is stored and processed here. Privacy laws in the United States may differ from those where you live. By using this site, you're agreeing to that transfer.

CHANGES TO THIS POLICY

We'll update this page when our practices change. The effective date at the top will always tell you when it was last revised. If the change is significant, we'll say so on the site.
